課程概述

This course is intended for the 2nd-year undergraduate students in the Dept. of Geosciences. The 3rd- and 4th-year students of Geosciences and other departments are also welcome. In this class, the frontier topics and current projects in the field of chemical geology will be outlined. Both theoretical and practical aspects will be emphasized to understand local and global paleo-tectonic, environmental and climatic changes. Applications to different fields of Earth Sciences will be given. New fields of biochemical geology and Nano-scale material will also be introduced.

5.Applications of natural carbonates to paleo-enrironmental changes.
6.Weathering, ocean chemistry and climate change: New insights from non-traditional stable isotopes.
7.Biogeochemical cycles and global change.
8.Mid-term exam.
9.Marine trace metal biogeochemistry and GEOTRACES.
10.Atmospheric chemistry.
11.GST annual meeting.
12.Environmental and material chemistry.
13.Petrology geochemistry I.
14.Petrology geochemistry II.
15.Chemical differentiation of the Earth.
16.lab visit.
17.Final exam.
